A Community for Gamers
Weary gamers, traders and storytellers, the TCG Tavern trading card game shop in Mission Viejo invites you to lay down your cards, leave your troubles at the door and stay awhile.
Since August 2025, the shop has built a massive collection of singles and sealed products for games like Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and One Piece, to name a few. But owner and founder Isaiah Lopez doesn't see TCG Tavern as just a store.
“We've built it like an actual tavern—a gathering place where players and collectors can hang out, play and feel welcome,” he said.
That sense of community is what makes TCG Tavern unique. “It's genuinely a family- and community-run operation. My dad, a retired Navy Seabee and licensed electrician, is helping build out our expansion.”
Growing the Tavern
Lopez considers TCG Tavern to still be in its infancy—which, he said, is just more reason to be excited.
“There are so many things to look forward to. The big one is our expansion into an additional suite at Garden Plaza. We'll have more play space, more inventory on the floor, and room for bigger events. And since we never had an official grand opening, we're planning to hold it when the new space opens.”
Weekly Events for Every Player
Much more than just a card shop, TCG Tavern hosts events nearly every night, including Dungeons & Dragons on Wednesdays, One Piece tournaments on Saturdays, and Pokémon tournaments on Sundays.
