From jerseys and reunion T-shirts to marriage proposals, The Shirt Cannery has seen just about everything in its 50 years of business.
Since her parents opened the business on Marguerite Parkway in 1976, owner Julie Marshall's custom-printing shop has created banners, shirts, hats and promotional items for schools, businesses, sports teams and residents throughout South Orange County.
Among the more memorable requests: producing more than 20,000 items for the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant and helping one customer stage a surprise proposal by hiding an engagement ring inside a tin can.
There have been countless T-shirts for family reunions, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, holidays... you name it. She’s even been asked to personalize a few risqué items.
"There isn't much we haven't been asked to print," Marshall said.
To mark its 50th anniversary, The Shirt Cannery is offering 15% off customization of Fourth of July-themed apparel as the shop prepares for America 250 celebrations next year.
